Some seasons of life quietly pull you inward. You find yourself simplifying, letting go of what wasn’t really you to begin with, and coming back to what matters most. That’s exactly what happened here.
Thimble & Tansy kept calling me home.
This little corner of the internet isn’t just a project — it reflects who I am and the things I love most. And I’m ready to bring it fully back to life.
Why This Blog Matters to Me
Thimble & Tansy captures my world in all its messy, beautiful reality.
The garden gives me peace. Even with Florida’s heat and storms, there’s something grounding about pulling weeds, tucking in new plants, and watching life unfold from the soil — with Chester, my constant companion, supervising from the comforts of my lanai.

The kitchen connects me with comfort. Baking bread, simmering soup, pulling out a recipe from years past — it feels like stitching memories together.
Quilting and cross stitch help me slow down. Needle and thread, fabric and pattern — they remind me that beauty is made one small step at a time.
And stories — the ones tucked in old photographs, handwritten letters, and family trees — those belong here too. Knowing where we came from is part of knowing who we are.
Each of these things shapes my days. Each one belongs here.
What You Can Expect
Regular posts covering gardening, recipes, quilting, cross stitch, genealogy how-to’s, and gentle ways to make a house a home — and a calm, practical thread I’m calling The Ready Home, because a well-tended life includes knowing you’re prepared for whatever comes.

Some posts will be practical. Others cozy and seasonal. Some deeply personal. All of them honest.
This space shows the life I really live — not a picture-perfect ideal, but a journey filled with soil under my nails, flour on my apron, thread in my lap, and stories worth finding.
Why Now?
Life is too short to put off what matters. I want to capture the things I love while I can, and share them with people who feel the same pull toward the garden, the kitchen, and the handmade.
If you’ve been waiting to start again — whether with a project, a habit, or a dream you set aside — I hope my return to Thimble & Tansy gives you a small nudge to take your own first step back.
Here’s to fresh starts, to simplifying, and to the everyday joys of growing, creating, and remembering.
Thimble & Tansy is back. I couldn’t be more ready.
